Invitation to the 1st ACTIVE Summer School on Advanced Technologies for a Knowledge-Powered Enterprise
June 1st, 2009You are cordially invited to attend the 1st ACTIVE Summer School that will take place from September 4 – 6 in Park Hotel, Bled, Slovenia. The summer school will be followed by the “European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases –ECML PKDD 2009“.
This 3-day summer school is mainly targeted at students, scholars and researchers from industries being interested in recent developments, solutions and technologies from the areas of:
> Semantic technologies and content,
> Social software and Web 2.0,
> Adaptive and context-aware systems,
> Context mining,
> Knowledge filters,
> Stream mining,
> Process mining,
> Anomaly detection,
> Meta learning,
> Forecasting,
> Social network analysis.
ACTIVE is an FP7 three year Integrated research Project co-funded by the European Commission that started on 1st March 2008. ACTIVE addresses the need for greater knowledge worker productivity with three integrated research themes: easier sharing of information through a combination of formal techniques based on ontologies and informal techniques based on user tags so-called folksonomies; sharing and reusing informal knowledge processes-by learning those knowledge processes from the user’s behaviour; and understanding the user’s context-so as to tailor the information presented to the user to fit the current task. The results of ACTIVE are relevant to all knowledge work; they are being validated in the domains of consultancy, telecommunications and engineering.
ACTIVE integrates into highly innovative application systems, concepts, methods and tools from the fields of Social Software and Web 2.0, Semantic Technologies, Context Mining, Context Modelling, and Context Sensitive Task Management and Knowledge Process Mining, Knowledge Process Modelling and Pro-Active Knowledge Process Support.
